New Hampshire gets rained out, Dunedin gets blasted, Buffalo sends Manoah to the mound, and Vancouver turns a triple play!

Buffalo, Vancouver and the DSL Red Jays were winners. New Hampshire lost and Dunedin was swept in a doubleheader. The DSL Blue squad's game was rained out.


JR Freethy was on base four times and drove in four runs out of the leadoff spot for Vancouver on Tuesday.

The Cubs return to Toronto, almost two years to the day since their last visit. 

Riley Tirotta hit a grand slam, Nimmala had four RBI but not from a grand slam. Thanks in part to Tirotta's grand slam, Buffalo scored six runs in their first at-bats with two home runs, that was enough for the win. Dunedin split a doubleheader. New Hampshire were one hit and Vancouver were good, until they weren't.

Buffalo had all systems firing on Saturday, they had good hitting and Shane Bieber was on the mound. Vancouver had Fernando Perez on the mound and they won a tight, low scoring game. New Hampshire were poor and Dunedin once again, were rained out.

Gage Stanifer struck out ten for Vancouver. Trey Yesavage struck out nine for New Hampshire. Daniel Guerra struck out seven for Dunedin and CJ Van Eyk struck out six for Buffalo. Only Daniel Guerra came out on the winning side as the hits were lacking higher in the system. Dunedin did have plenty of hits to support Guerra.

I don't think we're in Colorado any more.

Victor Arias did his best to get a win for New Hampshire but to no avail. He had four hits and eight total bases. New Hampshire could not execute and lost in twelve innings. Bryce Arnold was hot for Vancouver and they did get a win. Buffalo lost and Dunedin were rained out.

All eyes were on a pair of pitchers on Thursday. Adam Macko was wild again for Buffalo and doesn't look major league ready yet. And speaking of not being major league ready, Alek Manoah wasn't great for New Hampshire. But returning from surgery is not a simple exercise, lets see if he can improve next time out.

New Hampshire and the DSL Red Jays were the only ones not to pull any punches or waste their time on Tuesday. Buffalo, Dunedin, Vancouver and the DSL Blue Jays all tapped out.


Cutter Coffey hit his ninth home run of the season for Vancouver on Tuesday.

This road trip will take the Jays to two of the most historically extreme parks in the game. 

Fernando Perez and two relievers combined to throw a one hitter as Vancouver won. Victor Arias hit two home runs off Juaron Watts-Brown, New Hampshire won. Dunedin scored six runs in the eleventh inning for their win. Silvano Hechavarria continued to pitch well. Buffalo were the only losers.

Arjun Nimmala dominated the Northwest League in April and May but he hit under .200 in June and July. He had three hits, two of them doubles, on Saturday and he has seven hits in his last four games. Vancouver won. Johnny King doesn't need to come back, he has been great all season, he had another excellent start but Dunedin lost in extra innings. New Hampshire played two and won both. Charles McAdoo homered in each game. Buffalo lost.

The four affiliates had seven hits, six hits, five hits and three hits. Only one of them won by scoring nine runs. And of course it was the team with three hits, New Hampshire. Their opponents had one of the greatest self harm games you could see. Vancouver's opponents Tri-City had just three hits but they scored four runs to defeat the C's. The bright spot was Trey Yesavage who struck out nine in four innings.
